Siemens Enterprise Communications has upgraded its unified communications portfolio, adding mobility to its existing package for what it says is the first single-vendor end-to-end solution.
The new Siemens OpenScape Mobility portfolio includes a client that works on RIM, Symbian and Windows Mobile 5/6 phones. It also uses Siemens’ HiPath and 802.11n WLAN equipment, as well as the HiPath MobileConnect V2 fixed-mobile convergence software.
Rahul Aggarwal, vice president for solution management with Siemens Enterprise Communications, said the system brings mobility to existing and new unified communications implementations. That means enterprises can integrate wireless, fixed-mobile convergence, telephony, video and unified communications.
Siemens launched its OpenScape UC Suite earlier this year.
