T-Mobile Does Black Friday Early with Free Line Offer

By Diana Goovaerts | November 16, 2016

T-Mobile is hoping to get a jump start on the Black Friday rush by starting a week early.

The Un-carrier on Wednesday announced it will offer both new and existing customers the chance to get two free lines of service. New customers can get the free lines when they buy two lines of service on the T-Mobile One unlimited plan or a Simple Choice plan; existing customers on any Simple Choice or T-Mobile One plan can also activate two new lines for free.  T-Mobile said the offer is valid this Friday, Nov. 18 through Sunday, Nov. 20 only.

For families who take T-Mobile up on the offer, the monthly cost figures out to $120 for four lines. T-Mobile said the cost for the two free lines will be covered through bill credits.

“We know families work to stretch their budgets during the holiday season, so I love giving our Un-carrier customers a little — ok, a lot of extras this time of year.” T-Mobile CEO John Legere said.

The Un-carrier also shed some light on its upcoming Black Friday weekend deals, which will run Friday, Nov. 24 through Sunday, Nov. 27.

T-Mobile said it will offer customers a free Samsung Galaxy S7 via 24 months of bill credits when they trade in a Galaxy S6, Galaxy Note 5, or other device. It is also offering a Free Gear VR and $50 Oculus app store gift card to customers who get a Galaxy S7 – including the free one – as well as a free Samsung Tab E or LG Gpad X with a T-Mobile One tablet plan. There will also be offers for discounts on wireless speakers, Bluetooth headsets, and a power station, T-Mobile said.

This story has been updated to clarify which customers and plans are eligible for the two free lines.
