T-Mobile on Wednesday announced customers will be able to use unlimited high-speed international data through the end of this year.
As of October 1, T-Mobile said it will give customers unlimited high-speed data throughout South America and 19 European countries at no additional cost. The offer will run until the start of 2017 T-Mobile said.
“I’ve always thought roaming limits were nuts,” T-Mobile CEO John Legere said in a statement. “So when we found a way to expand our free summer data offer, I said ‘Hell yeah!’”
The offer expands on T-Mobile’s earlier summer promotion that gave customers free high-speed data throughout Europe and in Brazil during the Olympic and Paralympic Games. T-Mobile said the feature was popular with customers, who used three times more data in July and August than they did the yrea prior.
European destinations covered by the offer include Austria, Denmark, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom, among others. South American destinations include Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru and Venezuela, among others.
T-Mobile customers also have coverage in Mexico and Canada as part of the Un-carrier’s Mobile without Borders program.
