U.S Cellular today announced a promotional plan that offers unlimited data, talk and text for $50 per month with no contract.
A U.S. Cellular representative confirmed that the unlimited data includes just 500 MB of high-speed (LTE or 3G, depending on availability) before customers will be throttled back to slower speeds.
According to U.S. Cellular, 90 percent of their customers are currently on LTE.
The new plan is available both online and in-store beginning today.
In conjunction with the deal, U.S. Cellular is selling the ZTE Director for $50, the Kyocera Hydro XTRM and Samsung Axiom for $130 and the Moto X for $300, all off-contract.
Last year, U.S. Cellular put its unlimited plans out to pasture when it announced a move to shared data plans with $40 flat-rates per smartphone and data buckets ranging from $50 for 1 GB to $560 for 75 GB.
