Virgin Mobile today produced a batch of new unlimited plans.
The $20 plan features 300 voice minutes, unlimited text, and Wi-Fi only but the other tiers all include variable amounts of high-speed data.
For $35, customers can get unlimited text and either unlimited voice paired with 250 MB of high-speed data or 300 voice minutes paired with 2.5 GB of high-speed data.
For $45, customers can get unlimited voice and text along with 1 GB of high-speed.
The $35, 300 voice minutes plan looks like the better deal but it’s worth noting that customers who exceed their voice minute allowance will be charged $0.10 per minute for domestic calls. The $45 plan also includes unlimited international texts and 100 international minutes.
A $55 tier includes everything from the $45 plan but ups the high-speed data allowance to 3 GB.
The plan tweaks at Virgin come as Boost Mobile through Nov. 3 is lowering plan prices and doubling data, offering as much as 10 GB for $55 a month.
Sprint in May began reducing speeds for Boost and Virgin customers who exceed their high-speed data limits. Those customers will be put back on 2G speeds, which Sprint defines as less than 256 Kbps.
